The vineyard is located at an altitude of 500 m above sea level, while the unique climate in our area, which is characterized by high temperature differences between day and night, combined with the rocky soil in our area (terra rosa), form an ideal environment for long and slow ripening of the fruit and give our wine its special color, aroma and taste.
The vineyard is handled with a moderate and flexible farming method, which is not carried out according to uniform rules dictated in advance or strict laws placed under control and supervision bodies, so that the quality and health of the grapes and wine are achieved while maintaining soil and environment health. The spray against pests is controlled and used sparingly, and we also use independently-produced compost.
Today, about 100 dunams of vineyards are planted, which are cared for and maintained by Kishorit members, accompanied and trained by a team of expert consultants and workers in the village. Five members work regularly in the industry, and many more members enlist for work during planting, harvesting and bottling. The members feel great satisfaction both from the production process and from the ability to actually see a finished product, which is the fruit of their labor, sold on the market.
Today, the vineyard grows 11 grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Morvader, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Riesling and Chardonnay. The high temperature differences between day and night, which characterize the area and the rocky soil structure, form an ideal environment for long and slow ripening of the grapes and give our wines their unique character.
Kishor Wine is sold in over 70 luxury wine shops and restaurants in Israel.
